I haven't seen Dead Man or Benny and Joon.
Blow, he did have some character eccentricity, he just wasn't as over the top in it. Gary Oldman is the ultimate character actor. He, Jeremy Irons and Viggo Mortensen. In fact, Viggo Mortensen could probably be the best leading character actor out. |

Anyone see "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" last night - I almost pissed myself when the contestant was debating whether the correct answer involved the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
She kept saying it, then Hoskings said it, then she said it again... |

Haydos: as much as I like rabbit I couldn't eat a pet, even a pervy one.

Anyone in the film/tv industry know who has setup studios in Rothwell Ave in Albany?
Looks reasonably high budget, so I'm guessing Shorty or Outrageous Fortune? |

South Pacific Studios already has sizeable studios in Henderson, so I doubt it's either of those two.

Ricky Gervais on the Daily Show last night pissed me off.
Here I was, thinking two of my favourite comedians were going to come together, and give a bit of interview brilliance, but all it turned out to be was Jon Stewart setting him up for jokes that he had already done in his stand-up. And not even stuff from Fame, the most recent one, but Animals stuff. 2003 for god's sake. I'm not sure if they just assumed that Americans wouldn't have seen his stand-up, but if you had, it was just cringe-worthy, waiting for punchlines that you know are coming. Why not just ad lib something? It's going to be funny with either one of them involved, let alone both of them. Bah. |

I've moved on from Gervais. Russell Brand tickles my fancy these days. He has a very unique and colourful use of the English language

^^ same, but then i moved onto Jimmy Carr.

lol, Jimmy Carr from Russell Brand? Jimmy Carr has been around a lot longer.
I follow most british comedians quite closely, Carr is brilliant. edit: For those of you that watched and enjoyed Q.I. (Quite Interesting) there's a show called WILTY (Would I Lie To You), quite similar and is hosted by Alan Carr. I watched every episode via Youtube. Was thinking that myself, they'll be pretty damn expensive but think of the usage for quick deployment of aerial support for law enforcement.

Ricky Gervais is a douche. I reckon he's a one-trick pony and it's a very old trick now. Strange, because I loved The Office when it first aired - and although I still find that funny I now can't stand him.
For those who like Russell Brand, check out Noel Fielding (from Mighty Boosh) and Ross Noble for a similar style of random non-sequitur shenanigans. I'm not a fan of Brand myself, but Ross Noble is periodically brilliant. Noel Fielding is just... weird, but in an amusing way. My favourite comedian at the moment is Demetri Martin.

Yeah, Gervais is pretty annoying now, I wasn't impressed with "Fame".
Yup, Noel is very random eh, I've watched quite a bit of his stuff. I haven't looked at Demetri Martin in a year or two, will give him another shot and I'll have to look into some Ross Noble stuff. I know what you're saying about Russell, my brother says the same thing. |

Apart from Noel Fielding and Ricky Gervais I like all you mentioned, caff. I don't like Gervais either, and I'm not familiar with Fielding. I'll check him out though
