I'm friends with a bunch of people that work for me - but I've never sent a single friend request to any of them. Every single one of them has added me as a friend first. So, if they slip up and brag pulling a sicky and I see it, they've only got themselves to blame...

My boss was my friend before he was my boss, he knows more about me than I post on fb, and I don't spin him yarns, so having him as a friend on facebook works fine. This isn't the first time this has been the case either. It does depend on the boss and the relationship though. I've had bosses I wouldn't add to my friends list. It would feel weird and inappropriate.

In general I am not entirely sure why people friend their colleagues or people that they see daily on FB anyway. Just get the goss off them directly if you desire.

i dont really use facebook much but yeah, the people who are closest to me are the people i never talk to on FB- I cant remember the last time i sent anything to my partner on there, or my dad. its the "middle distance" friends i use it for the most.

I just saw an ad on TV3 showing clips from TV1 news and comparing it to TV3 news. The TV1 news was selectively picking "humour" segments and putting it against serious TV3 news segments. Seems like a bit of a cunty thing to do ;/
