That was cool, and really well produced, but I still couldn't stand to watch more than 50% of it due to the god-awful, innacurate, strained, unbelievable, awkward, and plain ridiculous 'US' accents.

I mean - what's the point? Does whoever made that really - really think that the american accent is either going to make or break a short film?

If so, I think they need to evaluate things a bit better.

NZ is renowned enough, especially when it comes to short films, (as far as I'm aware) that they shouldn't have to rely on this sort of stunt - i.e. accents that aren't going to fool anyone, and just make the overall project look somewhat redundant.

regardless, great potential, and look forward to future entries.

MC OJ and the Rhythm Slave had terrible accents when they tried to rap, and they have terrible accents when they try to act.

I totally agree about the accents.

I believe it was a facet of letting people who are financially involved be in front of the camera I think. You end up getting results which people think you need and you're not well placed to tell them otherwise. There were others who just stayed straight for it and I think it worked well. Don't quote me on that though.

The other video's linked on there are from the same guy who did that one, mostly. He's actually the many-armed character in Xena at the top.

I wasn't too involved in BBW really, just helped out, generally grip stuff. Have done more for their other productions and I've not heard if they've got more on the cards, don't think so.

Shame really, they're good fun. Besides I'm in Welly these days so it's probably a no-go.

When you listen carefully to the dialogue, you can tell that some of it is quite clumsily overdubbed. Which means that the original performance was even WORSE.

Very early stages but pretty awesome. Takes a couple minutes to get into it.
