"wait .. wut? the first one?" "yeah the kid and that guy from taken?" "oh hell no..." So made a deal I would read all of Harry Potter in direct trade for her watching star wars. So far one down (Watching original edits), also probably going Machete since she fell asleep during Ep.1 at some undefinable point after it got "shit". Other day had friends over and she commented we had Star Wars S&P shakers ... I'm thinking "Fuck do we? Sweet" .... no ... they are daleks and I am now further prompted to hurry up and finish them with her :P, just finishing off the movie setup in the new pad so good test. Also when she asked "Is family guy good" advised "for you it won't be nearly as funny"

Tbh, my wife has some redeeming nerd qualities - she grew a Trekkie :s (tng era, so Picard is her captain of choice, which is fine by me). Oh and she enjoyed BSG (though hated Baltar, so when the last scene rolls, she complained through it that she hates Baltar and missed his whole speech that ends the entire show -_-) The Doctor is waiting in the wings - I'm not sure if we'll ever get around to a communal viewing tbh, but I've only watched everything once, so I'm keen for a rerun starting with Chris Ecclelstein.

"Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"
"Charlize Theron as she is called, people who say otherwise: their tales are tall." I can ignore the non-sequitar final act (i.e. Snow White magically becomes Joan of Arc o_0) and rate it as "watchable" as long as Charlize Theron is in it. |

You can tell its a fantasy movie because we're expected to believe someone thinks Kristen Stewart is prettier than Charlize Theron.
Edit: I watched Mirror Mirror (aka that OTHER Snow White movie) the other day. Pretty enjoyable. Julia Roberts did a decent job.

The boy got me Piranha-3D for Father's day.
Well done that lad. 3D was surely made for such an epic. It started out with Richard Dreyfus in a boat chasing a fish, drinking beer and singing "Show me the way to go home..." and got so bad it was awesome. And there were boobies. In 3D. |

I'm only halfway through Snow White but it doesn't seem all that bad, not by today's movie standards anyway.
The most off putting thing is thanks to Charlize's voice / accent she's using, I can't shake the feeling she's still playing Rita |

Snow White was the worst movie I've seen this year. That's saying something because I went to the cinema and paid to watch John Carter too which was truly awful.
Ohh and on the Charlize Theron note. I watch Young Adult this weekend. Wow that way a painful watch. Painful as in like when you watch Bridesmaids or The Hangover the 1st time. Was still a good movie. Last edited by Furry Crew : 5th September 2012 at 10:29. |

Watched Le' Chef a couple nights ago. Thoroughly enjoyable light hearted movie and appropriate LOLs. It is in french though so you'll have to read subtitiles but I'm quite used to watching foreign films.
Jean Reno does great in comedy role for sure.! |

A Separation
Gut wrenching family drama like The Road, minus the apocalypse (and minus Charlize Theron). Set in modern Iran, it cuts a lot deeper. Not for the easily depressed. It seems obvious who the daughter would choose between mom and dad, even if the film did not explicitly show the choice. |

expendables 2.
probably better then the first, certainly even cheesier. not for those that want serious action but I thought it was entertaining if not amazingly made. edit: it really needed 120% more Jet Li |

yeah but from after saying that they took off like 5 seconds later
unless it was supposed to be a cut to another scene after they had gone and picked up him...pretty sure they were getting chased the whole time |

yeah i know
but there were two things in the movie that irriated me that and when they shoot the crap out of the dude and go 'rest in pieces' the amount of times they run out of ammo could be avoided if they actually remembered they are elite former soldiers who know how to double tap not expend all rounds into one dude i did like all the CG blood, so much more satisfying seeing someone shot and have red gore spray instead of white puffs of powder Last edited by blur^ : 10th September 2012 at 14:10. |

They're already looking at getting Eastwood on for an Expendables 3 cameo. I doubt he can barely hold a gun these days.

I was wondering if Steven Seagal would be asked to join the team.
Problem is tho he'll just use a stunt double for all his fight scenes like he does in all his movies now. Seems like it anyway. |
