Anything Japanese in that range tbh. I've driven them all. Toyota/Honda/Mazda/Nissan. For that price, you're going to have the pick of the bunch.
Personally I'd go with a Camry/Aurion but you will pay for it. A Nissan Maxima/Bluebird following a close second. I'd rate a Mazda's interior the best out of them all, easily. Nothing wrong with the Accord at all. I drive a few dozen a week, very nice. I'm bias as I'm a Toyota Fanboy. edit: Thinking about it, I'd put the Accord easily my 2nd pick, even beating the Camry if I had a wife and she had taste. Honda might be the way to go, they're pretty fucking nice these days. Last edited by Warrick : 2nd May 2010 at 19:39. |

Are there any mechanical problems known with those cars? A mate told me to keep away from Holdens 'coz they're badly made' whatever that means
For the record, I don't know anything about cars. When my mates start talking about cars my brain goes into standby mode. The only thing I know about them is that they're expensive. |

In this modern era, as long as you book your car in for a 6 monthly or 12 monthly(if it's under 5 years based on manufacturers recommendations) you can't go wrong.
I know how you drive, keep driving the way you do and Amanda does and you'll have trouble free driving for years. Find a good mechanic and stick with them, I've got a good one 5mins down the road from you. Airport Oaks Service Center, owned and operated by Bryan Vincent, he's a really honest and onto it chap. Get a WOF, get a Service and he'll (or any good mechanic) will advise you on what you should be looking out for. Stick with a Jappa mate, imo. |

weird, didn't see Jamiepo's post. I drive more Holden's than any other type of car and I love it. So much comfort. Solid as. Got a mean fright from an XR6 Turbo around a roundabout the other day, but that's another story! Heart hasn't raced like that in AGES, lol!
And what I said before. Last edited by Warrick : 2nd May 2010 at 21:33. |

Airbrushing is a good idea but maybe you should get something a little less lame painted on the bonnet.

Haha that's mental
Reminds me of an old Sigma we lowered once for a laugh. Pretty much removed the suspension completely and tried to drive it out of the workshop. Front crossmember was literally on the ground, struggled to clear the 1cm lip on the exit. When it did make it to the accessway it was scraping the top off the chip on the road. It had to drive round catseyes. Fun times |

Ok correct me if i'm wrong (and I quite possibly am, i'm not mechanically inclined in the slightest)...
When air passes over the windscreen of the car it cycles down over the roof, creating a downward pressure at the rear of the car. Wouldn't having the spoiler that high be inefficient in creating downwards pressure, i.e it's not using the circular motion of the air flow to create ADDITIONAL downwards pressure? |

A wing like that could probably produce significant force at high speeds - but most likely it's there 'cause it looks cool. |

It needs to be up in clear air in order to operate like a wing. If it were lower, it would be in the disturbed air created by the roof/windscreen, and wouldn't be as effective.
It looks like he's got a duckbill spoiler as well to reduce drag too, nice! I like that mx5, it looks like fun! |

Today I did round 2 of the sealed autocross series I'm competing in. Pretty easy entry level stuff. The tarmac surface is pretty slippery on the best of days, and the slow foggy drizzle today did not help. As a result, I only got 3 runs in before getting fed up with the car doing this non-stop:
Good fun doing drifts n shit, but gets annoying when you can't do anything BUT drifts n shit and really you want to go from corner to corner as smoothly and quickly as possible.
