Later, State Services Minister Jonathan Coleman was ordered to leave by Carter after he refused to apologise for calling another MP a "coward".
Heh - heard him on the radio last night - the reason he called another MP a coward was because he was hiding from the speaker and called Coleman a wanker.

I'm torn, because I hate everyone involved. Dunne's a cock, Peters is a cock, the GCSB are cocks, and Fairfax are cocks.

I dislike Dunne but I almost hate peters; thus I have given Dunne $5 for the sake of helping to end this nonsense. This means I'm now a paid up member of three political parties: National, Maori, and this twit.

I think Peters is a good opposition MP. Doing fucking better than Labour or the Greens right now.

Not sad to see Dunne gone, I hated that sanctimonious hypocritical prick. Betcha Charlie Chauvel is crying on Uncle Helen's shoulder somewhere right now.

Not happy about the state of United Future though - National's running out of centre-right coalition partners.

yeah but at least Peters actually has a registered political party behind him, has supporters, and is charismatic. What's Dunne got? He squeaked in in 2011 ahead of one of the most unlikeable candidates Labour had, if Labour puts up someone who knows how to campaign then Ohariu may well go to Labour.

Yep fair enough. I'd like to see him gone. I'm not looking forward to a green led government though and that's the implication here.

You know a government is in trouble when its leader starts to argue like they're on the internet.

Sounds like they will be chasing you for a paper signed copy if you joined the party over the net.

That's fine. If the small part I can play here keeps norman from being the next PM then it's worth it.

New Zealand women buck global voting trend

"Dr Coffe says having similar numbers of men and women voting for National and Labour in 2011 shows that New Zealand is bucking the modern global trend of women being more likely to support left-wing parties."

Given all our parties are left wing relative to most of the world, I'm not sure this research is saying much...

I'm pretty sure even mainstream media covered the by-election (slow week) so it shouldn't be that cryptic

Mana beat the Maori party in the by-election and now the MP is finally considering joining with the Mana party which by doing so would most likely rule them out of being part of a National Govt.

Despite ruling out working with Peters in the last two elections (as a matter of principle I might add); if in the next election NZ First make the threshold then it's looking more and more likely both National & Labour will need Peters to form a Govt & hence Key getting ready to get on his knees.

Pretty sure John's strapping on those knee pads earlier than that - doesn't he need Winnie to back him to pass the butt-covering GCSB retroactive law change?

Labour coup

Weird - the radio last night was full of Garner, Slater and Trotter all claiming slightly different things from their sources. Sounds like no-one had the numbers.

'The Pakeha Party' is so utterly ridiculous that even after their denials I'm still suspicious it's satire.

Let's hope it doesn't actually pan out. The election debates wouldn't be the same without Shearer. That media scrum last night was a good preview of great things to come.

The saddest thing about Labour's contortions at the moment is that the Opposition is being led around by the nose and made to perform tricks by a couple of bloggers. Can you imagine what an election campaign will be like when Labour has to actually go up against National?

So it seems the NZ public gives no fucks if we beco^H^H^H stay a surveillance state. Can't stand being a nanny state, but big brother is okay.

I wonder what perks the "Five Eyes" really get. I wonder if our part of the bargain is compromised if suddenly something that's already being done is clearly deemed illegal.

Secret motherfuckers doing secret motherfucker things...

The whole thing got swept up by Dunne all-of-sudden having party issues. I guess now he'll vote the right way, after some dutiful hand wringing.
