The only people who think that’s a big deal are people who don’t know how Parliament works. And those who are trying to inflame those who don’t.
But. Holy shit the UK is leaving the EU in 4 weeks. Still trying to get my head around it. |

With nothing resolved, no plan in place. The show is just beginning.

So how's all this playing out? Court action likely to fail? Brexit, deep UK depression. Domino into Europe. Russia takes East Ukraine. Informal US/AU alliance as they back away from EU. NZ shifts towards the China dominated Pacific, the region being the linchpin in the power balance between US & China. Biblical levels of suffering in Yemen (still.) Ultimately unpredictable weather events prompting unprecedented population shifts across the globe that make the whole nation-state paradigm untenable.
Maybe?

I think you’re on the money. I’d add more maneuvering by Putin to restore the Russian Empire.

While Scotland for example can't block Brexit, they will certainly request to be let back in independently of Britain on day 1, surely.

Supreme Court: Suspending Parliament was unlawful, judges rule
Doesn't seem clear this will achieve much.

Boris is as cunning as he is slimy. Trying to abdicate responsibility to the EU by sending the formal letter unsigned and his own saying it would be bad for everyone if they acquiesced (to the UK's request to postpone a hard exit.)

I really liked the idea of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland forming a union, remaining inside the EU.
It'll solve all those border problems. And would give England the isolation it craves. Wales of course will just keep being Wales.

Fascinating read of the impact of Brexit at the supermarket.

That is pretty fascinating.
Supply chain grift has a limited lifespan I think.

The UK is discovering that austerity fucking rules:

Ah, but think of that opportunity cost! If that money wasn't saved the UK would have missed out on... I dunno, whatever it is that's more important than the wellbeing of kids.

Orkney Islands consider leaving the UK and (returning to) being a territory of Norway:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...ive-governance Presumably this would bring EU membership; I bet Scotland is looking on with interest. |
