You know, if you don't have any money, that's not as easy as it sounds like it otherwise might be.

Julia looks half way decent in a white suit. Lose a bit of weight (or go for liposuction to save time), and me putting on the beer goggles, then it is game on. Helen Clark, on the other hand... |

There goes that future cushy list placing for everyone's favorite VP of Young Labour and Labour Party staffer Sonny Thomas. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

The bands? Yeah, they're alright eh, but not if it means supporting the Greens.

This is quite interesting http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10754231 since it creates a bit of a dilemma for green voters. Act will very likely be part of the next government if enough dope smokers vote for them whereas green won't be under any possible future.

imo the small percentage of people who make decriminalization their top voting priority vote for the legalise cannabis party.
Good on ACT for putting it out there, but it's not going to help there support and it'll just fuck off their religious nuts.

I think this is the first thing Brash has said that I completely agree with, is this the position ACT is taking though? My understanding is that it's his personal opinion on the matter not a party policy.

I guess Key doesn't want the 18 year old vote:
"Go and ask the police officers, go and ask the parents in New Zealand whether they want their 18-year-old child to be smoking a joint before they head off to school," he told TVNZ's Breakfast programme. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/poli...rong-direction

They now seem to be actively sabotaging themselves via campaign billboards. I don't know anyone who thinks that raising the minimum wage to $15/hr is actually a good idea yet that's what they're pushing here.

Gah, fucking politics. Bunch of lowest-common-denominator rhetoric spouted by nearly identical self-centred bastards. "Vote for me so I can do what's best for me and mine!".

Those barely out of the nest who have spent a very long time under state and parent control take some time to break free and form their own views of how the world should be. If you like there's an element of Stockholm syndrome to get over. I'd like to imagine that you were just playing the fool but sadly I know that wasn't the case. I love today's gut-punch to labour too - some of labour's very dearest voters are getting their houses refurbished by National; something labour always refused to do. This is the right thing to do of course but as always it seems it has taken National to actually do it. |

There would be a small redistribution affect amongst the rich but it wouldn't trickle down. As I've posted before it would be better to remove the minimum wage and to relax immigration laws so that those in need from elsewhere in the world could be sponsored to improve their lives through working in home help. The vast majority of people in NZ would be able to afford such help and so a great many people could be helped. |
