It's a physical imperative, rather than a slack attitude. Adjusting school hours to suit the needs of the students attending is smart, especially given the improvement seen when they do it.

nah its all biological, thats why when you're a teen you would sit up to 2am no problem, then sleep until 12

I guess they it does make "sense" but really just go to bed earlier..

I'm not sure how much of it is biological and how much of it is just habit.

As a teen I could only stay up every night if I had something to keep me active. Gaming, friends, TV etc. If it wasn't for constant entertainment etc keeping my brain active, i'm not sure how quickly i'd get tired.
2am is just the stage where your active mind can't fight the tired mind anymore

When camping, staying on a farm etc, there isn't that much to do after the sun goes down

Hell, there was one stage there where I slipped into 30-40 hour days. I'd be awake for 20-25, sleep for 10-15, and continue to do so for weeks on end.

I'm actually really lucky with my job. I'm a morning person and I get to work from 7 AM to 3 PM, so by the time I'm fading I'm about to knock off for the day.

mm, im a morning/night person. so i get up at 5, fade about 2-5pm, then wake up again at like 7-8pm. which suits my job perfectly really.

the idea of letting kids sleep more is a good idea really. the whole old school "they get 8 hours of sleep and like it goddammit!" went out the window a while ago imo, most companies i know of cater to the fact that diff people have diff sleeping habits- so long as you do the hours and get the work done, does it really matter that you come in at 10 or 7am? unless its a shitass retail job or something, and then who the fuck cares

Shows how much you know of the real world :P
I'd say it's a very very small percentage of companies that are ok with casual hours and a 'if you get the work done, who cares how long you're in the office for' attitude.
Some contractors, sure. Almost all full time employment - no way.

Then you're fucked alright. Urine, tears, and you're still fucking stuck on Jim Goddamn Martin.

Actually, aside from when I was working at ANZ, this is more or less the attitude at every site I have worked at.

Agreed, the entire construction industry revolves around a 7-5 shift. Which i'd say makes up for a large % of NZs work force.

come park by my building its per hour. maximum 2 hours however there are 30 min free zones. 6th st 3rd ave sw. If you dont want to pay at all you can park in the residential zones across the river and use the foot bridge to hike into downtown.

Hah, I was on 2nd st 3rd ave SW. By the frenchmaid.

Spoke to boss tho, and amex is on the way thankfully.

Got the job I was gunning for from the moment I arrived in Calgary. We are in the NE on 32nd. Its AV Tech, so we do all the huge fancy boardrooms with the crestron controls, home theatres etc. Anything A/V we do. Did shcanks in the NW if you've been, huge 50ft screen.

Looking for a new place around the NE at the moment, maybe an apartment/condo, but don't wanna pay over $1400.
