Generation Kill is a good take on the invasion of iraq. Centres around the marine recon force. Its not a documentary but rather and actual show. Has Ziggy from the wire (season 2) if you remember him.

Just a quick note on a couple of shows which have probably been discussed no-end already.
Back of the Y: I watched snippets of this a few years back, didn't see what the fuss was about. Watched almost all of the most recent season, and have come to the conclusion that if this is the current pinnacle of NZ comedy then we're in big trouble. It was infantile, repetitive and in my opinion, completely unfunny. Seriously, poo and wee jokes? The same ones every episode? The Mighty Boosh: Similarly, I only watched a bit of this a year or two ago and wasn't really impressed, but I've been hooked the last two seasons. So random, but very well done. Kinda reminds me of Monty Python in the kind of out-there humour.

Looks like they're going to try and end Flashpoint on a tear-jerker family note with every episode.

Well basically, the main notion so far is that the Marines are a bunch of racist, xenophobic, politically incorrect shitpigs who have commanding officers that are absolutely incompetent, including one who collects items from dead/dying Iraqis as well as orders his men to shoot at targets that he hasn't identified properly, causing an entire village of women and children to be torn apart by airfire.
So, I'm guessing it's pretty much spot on. |

So I'd never watched Californication before but wanted something to do tonight with my wife while she recovers from her flu and I recover from my hamstring tear.
Downloaded the full season and we ended up staying up til 1am, watching them all, brilliant show, a mandatory "Must show two pair titties per episode" ruling. |
31st July 2008, 17:25 | #751 |
|
So The Wire pack I downloaded has the final episode of season 5 actually being episode 8, not 10 (the final)
DAMMIT!! Now I have to wait longer to finish |

lol, Wife will no longer watch Flashpoint on the basis that she has cried in every single episode so far. Don't know who the writers are but they're superb at pulling at emotions.
Burn Notice was superb as usual. |

I haven't checked our Flashpoint yet, but Middleman owns me
I'm finding Moonlight kind of interesting too, but I have a feeling I'll be sick of it by the end of the season. There's only so much you can do with vampires, if you're not Joss Whedon.

Agreed, what the hell. I bloody loved seasons 4+5, the only thing overshadowing it for me was that there'd be none left to watch soon fixup!
