I emailed them back saying "Why has it not been sent already? It was supposed to be sent on Monday."
Now they email me to say: "Hi, Thanks for your email. Sorry still waiting for lens, its on back order. No stock with supplier. Kind Regards, Online Team" Whaaaaat.

Start talking about going to the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Small Claims Court. That might make them buck up their ideas.

I just wanna express my continuing good experience with Ascent.
Had problem with a UPS, got it sent back as faulty, they paid for shipping, RMA processed with no issues. Then a return for a credit processed smoothly with no issues. Then another order, item was not in stock, decided to cancel it, another credit processed with no issues. Prompt and polite communication throughout, awesome customer service. They will definitely get my future business In fact, placing more orders soon! GGs

It's a Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG II HSM
This is getting fucking ridonkulous. I ordered this motherfucking thing from them over half a month ago, paying for an urgent courier and everything. The event I needed it for has been and gone.

Did you try the FTA/CGA line? Otherwise just do a chargeback dude. I really think they couldn't care less about you as a customer (unfortunately). Since you paid by credit card, you'd be protected

Na, welly.
I emailed them and talked about CC, CGA, legal stuff.. and almost immediately got my email forwarded to someone else, and they replied saying sorry, the distro keeps changing the dates on them, and they'll refund it asap. Never. again. Expert Infotech... Avoid at all costs. They're regularly the cheapest on Pricespy too, so no doubt there's many people choosing them on price/delivery promises.

Anyone know the law regarding second-hand goods still in warranty? I have Playtech refusing to honour the warranty on a video card which sounds like bullshit to me.

Where did you get it from and do you have the receipt? The only way they can decline a warranty claim is if you cannot provide a proof of purchase, and even then, Playtech are normally pretty good about this sort of thing.
Email eliot AT ascent dot co dot nz and I can try and help you out. |

Where do most people generally get their laptops from nowadays? |

Purchased a BenQ monitor from ExtremePC in October last year, it's now died. Have emailed their RMA department to have it replaced and am being informed I need to contact BenQ to do a warranty claim.
Over my dead body. ExtremePC better sort this out. I knew being a tightarse would cost me in the end! |

I guess it should be no surprise companies still try that sort of shit on.

Ugh, they are saying I have to contact Benq, as they do the warranty. That's it. I'll never buy from them again.
|
8th March 2010, 15:45 | #507 |
|
You can quote the CGA if you wanted. Just show up with the bupkis screen with proof of purchase and get them to sort it out.
Although that might be more trouble than it's worth.

its fairly standard for the store to say ring the 0800 number, all monitor manufacturers have an 0800 pick up return warranty over here these days, however they should offer to do it for you, it will take longer for them to do it however as theyll need to ring the 0800 number and arrange it |

Hey guys, has anyone bought a phone from Fair Buy NZ? They seem legit. Hong Kong based company that's come to NZ who claim to knock off 40% off any NZ retail price. Thinking of buying a new phone there but hoping they're not a dodgy fly by nighter.

Just bear in mind that a lot of things you can buy from Hong Kong are replicas.

But even more are genuine
What are their payment methods? If they have a Paypal option you are pretty well covered.

They are paypal registered and apparently trading on TradeMe since 2005 but now just through their website. Shame I can't find their old TradeMe username to check out their feedback :/

hmmm long story but eventually they sent me a replacement because i couldnt send the faulty one back to hong kong for less than $90 (more than the battery cost).
So many places that get their stuff from hong kong, dirt cheap but buyer beware!
