Yeah I dunno about that analogy.
I'm pretty sure women have more buttons than an iDevice. |

You do know the difference between an app and the OS, right?

The super-weird thing is that many of us consider it to be worth that much.

HENCE WHY FOREVER ALONE
|
My Lumia 520 just received an OTA update...
Prior warning for the other one or two people who might use a Windows Phone - my WiFi no longer works. The menu item doesn't do anything when you touch it. It's spent a bit of time doing background tasks that has fixed other issues that were broken to begin with (Mail for instance) so it might come right after a bit of behind the scenes wizardry (or a couple of reboots). YMMV

Ah yep, it's a new feature (WiFi Sense!), and so I was prevented from going into WiFi until I had gone through the new options...
Back to NORML now

I guess the Apple-Samsung suit outcome means they won't.

Xaiomis OS is rather nice - MIUI.
Its what I use on my phone - I MUCH prefer it to the default darkness of most Andoid themes. Also very intuitive to use. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right? Who cares if it looks like iOS. Its really nice to use.

That seems to be the general feeling. And, as discussed somewhere in this thread recently, the new ambitious Apple-copiers aren't hurting Apple - they're hurting Samsung. Because that which Samsung has done can be easily and cheaply replicated, while that which Apple has done cannot (quality, support, ecosystem, etc)

Seems to me the main change to the menus is that they are white backed rather than dark.
If the prime underpinning of Apples product differentiation is using a white background, I think they are in trouble. Or have they extended the rectangle patents to cover white backgrounds too? (Not disputing that Xaomi is emulating Apple) |

Didn't Samsung do curved screens first? They should sue Apple. Or does Apple get away with it because it's convex rather than concave?

The youngest will be seven in early October and she will be getting her first phone; it will be an iPhone 6. I'm not planning to upgrade from my 4S myself.

Gotta say though, using a 5S and a 4 side by side, I definitely prefer the screen size of the 4. If Tim could give me an iPhone Mini with the guts of the 5S crammed into the space allowed by the 4's 8.9cm display, I'd be all up ons. |

iOS apps always seem to have functionally-critical interface elements at bottom left and top right. With the phone in my left hand I like being able to go from one to the other comfortably without feeling like I'm stretching with my left thumb and without repositioning the phone or bringing my right hand into play. 8.9cm display feels perfect.
