Let this thread die, and we'll do it all next year. And, once we've been doing this for 5 years, we'll release a 'best of', which better damned well have 10 accounts in it.

I just remembered I've never actually posted anything to this thread. So here's 40 seconds or so of me noodling around recently while trying to come up with ideas for a backing track to improvise over. I found this little thing in the "rejects" directory of backing track ideas.

station imaging
this is not really a song or nzgames related at all as i didn't want to start a new thread, but here is one of my assignments that I made this semester yay I hear you all say!
this was made as the first thing to play on our radio station in christchurch. You may have heard about us on Close Up, or on Radio Live or in The Press, we read out the entire christchurch phone directory 4 times before going on air (it was all prerecorded, 78 hour loop recorded in realtime of course). Anyway, after the phonebook stunt we launched into my piece which was intended to present what our radio station, Vinyl 96.1, was all about. It starts with a few bloopers from the phone book and then gets into it choice http://alika.orcon.net.nz/vinyl128.mp3 - 3.2mb, enjoy |

I listened to that reading the of the phone book for about 5 minutes before I realised what the hell was going on.

Not my favourite piece I've heard from you (that would be Tuesday - Endure), cEv, but I REALLY like the allusion to trains/the tube with the drum beat.
Still, enjoyed it very much. Nice one, cEv. |

So I've listened to it on rotation for about a week now, and I have to agree with Evoke.
Dunno if it was the particular time I listened to it first, but on (I think it was) Wednesday I was in a fairly ambiguous mood and it came on again and really hit me to how much I did enjoy it. Well done guys. ((dunno if this will be insulting or not , but I listened to the snippet of Afterman (great title) and got a very Portishead feel from it... I liked it also.))
