Fuck You McAlistar

What a traitor. I can understand dudes taking a big pay cheque to go play overseas in the TWILIGHT of their careers but... McAlistar? What a sell out, especially after the AB selectors have blatantly chosen him over Mauger so many times this year.

Yeah, I've always loved McAlister as a player but have to agree with you that he is a scumbag.

He deliberately stalled his announcement till post tri nations to ensure his selection in the starting team and keep management on their toes.

I still don't get it though. He has the potential to be the greatest #12 to ever play the game (and he is only 23). He would get far better development over here and can easy chase the paychecks after he has peaked at the next world cup. I don't believe you can't put a monetary worth on this wasted opportunity both to himself and his country.

So, we get a currently in-form player who's part of a cohesive unit for RWC2007, then he can fuck off and stagnate in a career wasteland making progressively less money year-on-year while we develop players to shut him out of RWC2011 contention.

I don't see a problem?

I say good on him, go somewhere and experience life and maximise his earning potential after being part of a winning world cup team (please god let them win).
In another 4 years there will be some other upstart that will be better than him anyway

The reason he is going to Sale is all because of his Dad getting screwed coaching in NZ. He was never going to stay, he only delayed confirming what was already being organised.

Yeah, its fine with me. At least he has said he may come back after 2 years, so either in that time we will get a better 2nd 5/8 and it wont matter, or there wont be a better player, but he will be back, so there is no lose.

fucking good on him.

If i could go overseas, play, then return 2 years later having filled my OE desires fuck it.

It aint being disloyal, its doing what the fuck you wanna do.

Given the way he was initally treated by the Auckland union when he was playing for harbour....

..and kid

He use to take his kid to the same swimming lessons as my daughter.

So his kid is around 2.5yrs. (wife is nothing to look at tbh - no trophy wife there)

pics please

p.s. with the amount of talent in nz rugby and the amount of team changes, is it any surprise that he's taking off?

I would if I was in his position. The guy is 22 years old, played in the AB's and will be earning buckets of cash in UK for a couple years and potentially come back and play for the ab's

Safe as fuck
