If you don't chill down effluent the bacteria will continue to break down the organic matter in the effuent, this will in turn lower the oxygen demand of the sample which is the primary measurement of effluent strength.
More oxygen a sample uses over a period of time = more bacteria = more organic mass = more of the good stuff that is in the effluent.


But yea tommy, thats pretty much how shit went.
