This is a bit of a dicky way of responding but re the 1.8 thread on orcon forums:
If we're going to make new worlds to parasite off of and set up villager trades to get the new blocks why not either a) set creative mode or b) edit in chests full of new materials at spawn so that we save the time in collecting them in the first place.
