But also salt (causes virus cell to die from dehydration - I'll admit I'm not sure if C-19 is impacted that way), UV (decompose virus cell walls), and - usually - enough space that it's actually incredibly unlikely to get enough of a viral load for it to successfully infect.
In some ways taking exercise at the beach is better than at a park: Parks have shelter (trees, plants - more places with less UV exposure) and no salt.
One of the major "no beaches" rules is because (most) people need to travel to beaches and they're trying to restrict travel. Another reason is many of the early beach-issues was crowding so unable to maintain social distancing.
