To be fair, going to the beach does not seem to be a problematic activity. Outside, not too close to other people, sunshine, salt water. The media keeps posting outragepieces featuring crowds at beaches but it's just clickbait.
Groups of closely-packed people breathing each other's respiration INDOORS, that's the timebomb. Pubs, concerts, shopping centres, churches, buses and trains.
