The bar for conviction is set too high. 57 "guilty", 43 "not guilty", and even that wasn't enough.

In your view, what is worthy of a successful conviction? What could he have done wrong, and been held responsible for?
The issue they would need to be careful of is that convictions become party lines. Otherwise any side that wins a house and Senate majority can go and try and make up some lame excuse for impeachment.

Obviously the flip is is that presidents will hardly ever be convicted because of those political divides.
