Right now the normal hurdles to accessing support are simply steps. It's still no wheelchair ramp and never will be, the most vulnerable will always struggle. Just depends on how the political winds are blowing.

For Maori these difficulties are even worse, something that's seen both on the ground and in the data.

I am really hopeful about the Maori Health Authority. What will is it will start producing better health outcomes and more people will be attracted to make use of their services. Which of course will necessitate increased funding. Which will mean more political ructions. Heaven forbid we spend money on effective services when we could be paying off mortgages.
