Vaccines are working. They helped with the strains that were a lot worse for us.
Then the virus mutates, and usually when the mutate they become less deadly.
(Which is probably how omicron started, the mutation was one that was highly infectious otherwise it wouldn't have been able to affect the vaccinated.)
So while infections are high, we are coming to a point where it is less likely to have a damaging impact on the health sector.
So it will become another flu. Where each year there is a vaccine on offer that will help with the current strain.
