I wrote an email to stuffs editor about this article and how it was factually incorrect. originally it stated-
"The Oranga Tamariki Act states, anyone under the age of 17 cannot be arrested by police without a warrant, even if they would normally be empowered to."
and now reads
"The Oranga Tamariki Act states anyone under the age of 17 cannot be arrested by police without a warrant, except in special circumstances.
These circumstances include if an officer believes a youth might commit more offences, skip court, or jeopardise evidence/influence witnesses related to any potential court case."
no follow up email or anything, I just went to check it and see if they had ninja edited it, which they did.
