The problem I have with the idea this thread purports is that everything that is fucked up was fucked up before social media. Sure, social media enables a lot that previously was difficult. But that's across the board. Whether it's psychopaths, SJWs or nihilists, the compassionate, concerned or insightful, we all enjoy the same advantages social media brings.

Making out that the fucked up shit we're able to see that was previously obscured is a problem of social media makes it seems like the solution is to fix social media. The absurdity of which we're on commenting right now.

The problem is the grim shit that's been going on forever. The powerful acting powerfully and the weak identifying with the aggressor.

The Nazis didn't need no social media to get their groove on. What were the ingredients back then? A desperate situation to feed resentment and the willingness to put in more work than those who would oppose them?
