Job hunting in NZ (post 8 years UK) and trying to deal with recruiters/HR in NZ:

- So you've been working with this Accenture company? Who are they again?

- Ahh I see. I don't see how that's relevant. You don't have 5 years in this exact job title (generic xyz manager title), so I don't think you have the right experience for this job you understand?

- Yes, so I can see you literally wrote up the global framework and policy, ran the pilots, oversaw the roll-out region by region and the associated financial business cases for this FTSE 100 company in exactly the same field, but I would much rather you had 5 years experience in this role within NZ.

- Yeah, your UK experience isn't relevant to the NZ market, so you need to start a level or 2 lower, so perhaps you apply to for junior role and work your way up over the next 2 years.

I work in Supply Chain Management and Operational Planning, in a field where there is severe skills shortage in NZ. I appreciate it's just HR but I don't remember HR being this painful :/
