Yeah our survival pretty much assured these day's, thank's mainly to better hygene & diet.
But you can't say that doctor's don't play a great part in this (i reckon they have the greatest business model around, help sick people live so they can breed more people susceptable to sickness).
Then you can argue that genectic engineering will put it all right in a few more decade's, but the way i see it we may as well leapfrog that and go directly on to cybernectics.
