I had a flatmate who worked at 'The Pie'. She used to bring home boxes of pies that were left at the end of a shift and would otherwise be thrown out. So we'd stick them in the freezer and live off them for the next few days.

Breakfast? Mince & Cheese Pie. Lunch? Mince & Cheese Pie. Dinner? Rice with a can of tuna... and a Steak & Mushroom Pie... with an Apple Pie for dessert.

Of course... this was when I was a po' student, and could eat almost anything and stay vaguely slim.
