Redundancy can be a nice surprise, like finding $20 down the back of your couch. It’s a Plan B contingency in the event you are no longer needed. Plan A should be your unique value proposition that ensures you are the golden goose that always gets a payrise, and everyone wants to poach you (like now, with your old manager)

My advice is to spend time planning on how you will be irreplaceable in your next job. Become bottled lightning for one company, and let the other company know they aren’t getting your best work anymore. The redundancy should sort itself out and fall in line behind your priorities.
