I have detailed files

I caught up with my local Bros on the 25th, and it was mentioned that we really should have another crack at Dad's workshop so Mum can at least get in and out of her car without having to limbo through the maze of the two car laundry that acted as his resin casting, brass milling, model train setup.

I digging through a cabinet full of Elvis CDs I came across an original copy of The 7th Guest 2CD set - the game that burst onto the scene about the same time as Soundblaster2 and S3 video cards.

I managed to cripple my battle station enough to pretend it was a 486 from 1993 running something akin to Win3.11 and now I've spent the last couple of nights playing until midnight. Strange how you can remember how to solve a puzzle you last did almost 30 years ago. And all the time thinking Dad had to work the same stuff out in his dark office at the end of the house, lights off, and Creative Labs speakers honking out bad MIDI tunes.

I really miss the old bugger. Shit - he was my age now back then.

Makes me smile.
