Well this is going to be fun seeing how this plays out.

At least certain aspects of the crypto system are the antithesis to authoritarian control of information. It makes sense authoritarian regimes would want to maintain their own solutions.

The ideal, however realistic it is, is that reliable information allows for robust decision making. Robust decision resulting in better outcomes. Ultimately facilitating increased economic activity as risks are reduced.

The question will be, how will China respond when it sees others with an advantage it lacks?
