Today's shower thoughts

What if the fabric of time is so self-protecting that time itself won't allow for time travel at all or for at least any time travel that would be destructive in any way.

Meaning, everything in the past will lead to a path where time travel is impossible. Any candidate for its development would immediately hit a brick wall.

Or put another way lets say Joe creates a time machine, it may be inevitable that he changes something in the past which results in him not creating it in the first place.

That would leave the question; how close to its development could we get?
