Loving the bass for this reason. I can jam out with no screen in sight, and get my head/ears around different grooves way easier than with a keyboard. There's something ... musical... about an instrument that you play without a computer. I've had a MIDI keyboard for years, but never had the same connection. Been able to bust out 60 mins of relatively decent (YMMV) sounding shit way easier than on a keyboard. Still enjoying the drum patterns/rhythms of my pedal though, so can't knock a drum machine.
