Well, yeah, if history started in February 2022 it looks like Russia is meddling in the affairs of a foreign country to grab land (i.e how we perceive Crimea).
-Donbas (ethnic Russians) has been in a hot war with Ukraine national guard since 2014 (probably earlier than that). But who cares if Ukraine is attacking itself, right?
-Russian language and culture was banned in Ukraine essentially dividing the country more (

-USA have been arming and training Ukraine assisting in this fight for many years (

-The USA goal, stated publicly at least, is to "weaken Russia"... how's that going?

-Pretty much all ceasefire agreements have failed (

-Dialogue stopped, now it gets resolved with violence.
