I agree with you, absolutely. Diversity should be celebrated. Political beliefs shouldn't be tribalized to the point where you wish harm for anyone other than those that share your beliefs.
What I don't understand is the dire lack of self awareness, that limits some peoples ability to see that Trump stood for none of those things.
He actively fought against diversity, he ordered diversity training to stop. He was proud of his Muslim ban, and his plan for a wall to keep our the Mexicans. Most Presidents see themselves as a President of the people. Trump was a President for those that voted for him. His political rivals were "treasonous." It was 'us' vs 'them'. He was incredibly vocal about the fact that either you voted for him, or you're dead to him.
