In other news, by all reports China has stopped buying USD Treasuries, and is now trading oil in PetroYuan (Oil for Gold). China has the largest holdings of Gold of any nation. Trump's trade war tariffs is perhaps a necessary show of force against China's actions (no more rubbish recycling, no more USD, a move to gold / oil-backed economy) but I can't see how any of this would significantly hurt China.
