Cavil said he's all in on The Witcher for seven seasons as long as he agrees with the direction of the show. As a fan of the source material, I wasn't happy with Season 2. I guess he wasn't happy either.
I'd say it's that, plus some James Gunn's DCU sized contracts under his nose.
