Republicans will talk a good game, make everyone who feels things are broken begin to feel like things are about to be fixed, and there will be zero meaningful change. Letting republicans have a turn every now and then is perhaps the only thing stopping US from descending into revolution.

Same thing is happening in Italy. Meloni talks a VERY GOOD game, she evokes in me some righteous family values finally taking up the sword against wokeism. Let's go! But I get the feeling she's just a foil ("she's Mussolini!"), and just a different flavour to get us useless eaters to take our medicine (Digital ID, CBDC, Social credit, full-spectrum debt dominance)
