I think that cancel culture is mostly focused on people with a prominent public platform because of their platform and the power that this wields.
Also if people are keeping quiet then it’s difficult to substantiate if a significant number of insignificant people are scared of being cancelled. And even if they are then it’s good that they're deterred to engage in harmful behaviour.
A lot of the use of the term ‘cancel culture’ is thrown out by people not used to facing consequences for their actions as a way to delegitimise any type of criticism towards them.

Protecting your peace is way more important than proving your point. Some people aren't open to cultivating their views. Just let them be wrong.
