I was absolutely posting the cartoon in the context that the baby boomers all got 100% free tertiary education.

One has to take the aging population into account, because it's the population we have now. They got free education, so shouldn't be complaining when a policy is suggested to give current generations the same thing. Especially taking into account the other benefits they have received (best part of house price increase etc).
I think it was around 1990 that students started paying fees for uni.
