I thought he disagreed with Labour's getting rid of titles but he seems to have contradicted himself in different interviews.

I was more amused that it was probably something he was against (ie abolishing knighthoods) at the time but had to toe Aunties line. Guess he got the last laugh, by getting a knighthood.
