Looking to get in on that Zoom life. Looking for a good price/performance balance.

For sheer awesome and easy: Elgato Facecam.
For sheer awesome and cheap: An old cellphone, a phone-tripod, and iVCam or similar For cheap and easy: Yo Momma, uh, I mean Microsoft Life Cam. Got mine for $10AUD off eBay. Some of the Logitech cams have also gotten some good reviews. |
Also if you want feeds from multiple cameras but can't be arsed fussing with OBS:

When I upgraded my machine to Windows 10 a few years ago I found my (XP-based) webcam was not compatible with 10, so I upgraded to one of these, and it seems to do the job quite well:

I run Zoom meetings on my laptop with my desktop PC to the side where I can multitask on notes, keep an eye on incomings while in the meeting, bring up reference material. My PC has two screens, the laptop makes a third. The Zoom software on a laptop seems quicker to action. Frequently I need to take a quick call on my mobile during some Zoom meetings. My USB headset has a convenient mute button. On n on goes the list of benefits |
Logitech C920 does alright for me.

Have no complain of product. Had to cobble together a setup for a family hangout session one Friday night - got frustrated with a bastardised PS3 cam and old Logitech (for the mic) which made a potato look good, ordered a C920, which arrived before 08:00am on the Monday. Have considered mangling an old CB radio type mic with a push-to-talk button - mute by default! |
Buy a decent mic - webcam mics are shit.
