Where is everyone in TF2?
 

I *FINALLY* got the Orange Box last night, among other things, and first loaded up TF2. I was shocked to see dozens and dozens of NZ and Ozy servers..... empty. TF2 is one of the most played FPS games at the moment, second only to CoD4, just.... yet where is everyone? There are more people playing WolfET locally than TF2.... thats just weird... even for NZs crappy game scene.

hang on a server for a bit, eventually others will join you.

1. boom period, everyone and their dog gets game
2. clans are formed
3. clans gay up every public server and smash casuals
4. casuals leave
5. game dies

(disclaimer: I haven't played TF2 or any fps really since tribes 1 so this is mostly theory on my part)

I still play when I can. But I normally only get the chance saturday mornings, or when the wife isn't at home (not often)

I haven't played in over a month. I was one of the most active people playing the game.

IRL shit changed for me.

sadly for BF42 it was

3. more people keep getting the game and joining/creating clans
4. BF:V came out and gayed everything up
5. casuals leave
6. BF2 comes out
7. game dies.

what do you mean? plenty of people still play 1942. BF:V is the one that died.

I find there are nomally 3 full servers, but i think no one wants to get on the other empty servers and wait for people to join, takes quite a while in que to get in one of the full servers.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I play heaps and there's always full server games going, you just have to use the Australian servers a bit. The ping is fine at 60-90ms most times.

Some of the Clear Net ones aren't on the games internal browser I think and you have to add them manually, there's a thread here somewhere with the host names.

Pub tf2 will be fine for years to come, competitive tf2 is taking a bit of a break by the looks
