Now the battle to give gay people the legal right to love who they want has been won in most countries, activists have moved to the next battle: forcing gays to have sex with people against their will
If you're not attracted to that person's vagina, even though you're a gay man, that's DISCRIMINATION and TRANSPHOBIA. |
So if you're a gay man, and don't want to date a gay man that used to be a woman, you're transphobic, but if you specifically do, you're fetishising.
|
There’s no such thing as biological sex so if you call yourself “same-sex-attracted” you’re a transphobe committing a hate crime
|
That's so gay.

The woke commissariat have just today become aware of a stage show containing portrayals of American historical figures who - get this - OWNED SLAVES. There's no point in naming the show, it's really underground, you won't have heard of it.

I think that cancel culture is mostly focused on people with a prominent public platform because of their platform and the power that this wields.
Also if people are keeping quiet then it’s difficult to substantiate if a significant number of insignificant people are scared of being cancelled. And even if they are then it’s good that they're deterred to engage in harmful behaviour. A lot of the use of the term ‘cancel culture’ is thrown out by people not used to facing consequences for their actions as a way to delegitimise any type of criticism towards them. |
Respectfully disagree.
Although I agree it is about power. I see it as amplifying the oppressor/oppressed narrative so a vast imbalance illusion is painted and balance must be restored by any means necessary. It reads the headline and knows all it needs to know about a person. It's attack dogs are people who think similarly to roided up Ben Affleck when he snapped at Sam Harris for being "racist" and "gross". Here's the clip. https://youtu.be/vln9D81eO60 The scary part is that I see myself in Ben Affleck here. My compassionate intuitive brain tells me that Sam Harris is a fucking xenophobe bigot! He must be stopped! To reassess my default position takes effort, and my brain is designed to conserve energy and go with its gut feel. Granted, sometimes it finds a worthy target: An actual Nazi, a Harvey Weinstein, or white supremacist. But you have to admit the definition of "problematic person" get pretty loose when someone like Bret Weinstein is hunted across a university campus by people with baseball bats. |
Watching that clip Affleck gets a bit heated but he’s not wrong in what he’s getting at.
When people with the power to influence communicate they have a responsibility to do so in a way that considers privilege and avoids negative stereotypes. When criticising Islam they need to be crystal clear to ensure that the narrative is the extremist minority and not mainstream Islam. Why? Because privilege. Christians for example are privileged in that their fringe can be criticised without it negatively affecting/perpetuating views about Christians in general and how they participate in society. Islam doesn’t have this privilege and so often all Muslims are blamed and from this cop the negative consequences that come from living in a society where people often think like this. So to link back to cancel culture, prominent people who fail to acknowledge the ideological distinctions between a faith of 1.8 billion and a militant fringe are literally attacking mainstream Muslims and cancel culture is a reaction to this. Reza Aslan: Bill Maher 'not very sophisticated' |
no argument from me that Bill Maher is not sophisticated. He is atheism for viewers of South Park.
Ben Affleck attacking Sam Harris is a perfect example of refusing to understand someone's efforts, achievements, and intentions but smearing them anyway to collect the virtue points. |

Andrew Sullivan is an HIV-positive gay man, a vocal anti-Trump activist, and is quite possibly the very first mainstream columnist to (in 1989) call for legislation extending the right of marriage to same-sex couples. At the time he was excoriated as an extreme leftist.
Of course he has just been driven from New York Magazine/Vox as an unperson: Quote:
