The Art of Code - Dylan Beattie

A very interesting talk/presentation that explores the strangeness of programming languages and concludes with a bad metal song (which is actually a program written in Rockstar).

In this video I have a look at a ladies Subaru that she had at another shop for a brake light problem. They informed her they "jerry rigged" it (or "jury rigged" if you want to be grammatically correct). That's fine if you intend on fixing it the following day or so I suppose. Any how, let's undo the jerry and fix this thing the right way.

In episode 34 of Project Binky we start the reassembly. But before it gets too exciting, we need some sound deadening, heat management and rust proofing. The painted shell begins to take shape as a car and not just a selection of parts.

Julius Sumner Miller at the Air Force Academy in 1973

Physics lecture with some demonstrations that surprised me.

Lots of interaction with the audience, questions posed, and general excitement to be learning and thinking.

Yeaaah, that's what I don't like about this channel - it presents disputed theories as fact.

Lightspeed 10th May 2021 21:08

Really? It seems thoroughly couched in "this doesn't necessarily mean" and "just because the maths shows it, it doesn't mean it actually works that way".

crocos 12th May 2021 00:19

Mmm... Maybe but the initial presentation is very "this is the case"... and frankly given that I knew it was disputed I stopped watching at that point.

Lightspeed 12th May 2021 13:12

I've seen a few of them, they always seem peppered with those kinds of caveats.

I guess it's also an issue of what's the knowledge for? What kind of decisions am I going to be making with my knowledge of the theoretical consequences of charged and/or spinning black holes? I think it's fairly benign as far as infotainment goes.
