Scavengers Reign is decent. Only a couple of episodes in. Animated sci-fi, colonist types marooned on a planet. Lots of depth to it.

I'm enjoying it. It's not as good as more serious fare, but it's fun and nostalgic. Walton Goggins is good value.

I liked the poster for "A man and his dog" at the party at his house - nice obtuse callback to this classic.

It took me several episodes to work out that the closing credit animation was a preview of the next episode.

Bring on Series 2 - New Vegas

And the bubble car that Bud drove was reflected in him ending up being brain-in-a-jar-on-a-roomba - was that in the game (the bubble car bit)?

I thought there were lots of "hat tips" to post-apocalypse sci-fi. I got A Boy and His Dog, Dr Strangelove, The Postman, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Logan's Run, maybe A Canticle For Leibowitz?

Edit update: renewed for S02!

Needs renewing for S4 at least. Best VG to TV adaptation ever.

Love that it also has to fit in Fallout canon!

For the video game that's for sure:

Fallout Games Surpass 5 Million Players in One Day Following TV Show Success

In a new post on social media, Bethesda announced that it had recently seen over one million players dive into Fallout 76 in a single day. Although specifics weren't provided, it's assumed that this is one of the highest player counts that F76 has seen since releasing nearly six years ago.

Anyone see Sugar yet? With Colin Farrell.
Looks like it might be good. I might check it out this week.

Need some new material now that I've finished Shogun and Fallout.
Have been watching Beacon 23, but its very meh...

Probably closer to sci-fi/horror. Very good.

Severance Season 2 has wrapped. Looking forward to that one, I'm just not sure where they're going to take it, or how it'll top season 1.

Late to the party on this but following my rewatching of Apollo 11 I gave in to alternate history nostalgia and started For All Mankind. It's fucking great.

wazza 2nd May 2024 14:10
