what kind of taro bread?

i took some steamed sweet buns to smoko at a previous employer that my step-mum makes, and was told it was taro bread. except they actually weren't - they were a sweet steemed bun with a spoonful of curried pork. THE # one most delicious thing you can possibly imagine. They have a paper or rice paper bottom, not unlike a cup cake - only not crinkled and not a cup :p

i can buy them frozen from davis trading here in palmy.

google images search for steamed bun gives what i'm talking about

Photographer speared in leg by javelin
Quote:

A newspaper photographer got a little too close to the action at the Utah state high school track championships - and was speared through the leg by a javelin.
I just want to know one thing - did he get a photo of the javelin hurtling towards him?

Quote:

Ryan McGeeney of the Standard-Examiner was spared serious injury in the weekend mishap and even managed to snap a photo of his speared leg while others worked to help him.

"If I didn't, it would probably be my editor's first question when I got back," McGeeney said later.
Almost as good I suppose.

Quote:

The javelin was thrown by Anthony Miles, a Provo High School student who said when he saw what had happened, "my heart just stopped".

"One of the first things that came to my mind was, 'Good thing we brought a second javelin,'" Miles' coach,
:D

crocos 20th May 2008 23:09

Hmm... Saw that on youtube as teacher gets speared by javelin. <shrug>

CCS 20th May 2008 23:17

You sure it wasn't a different one?

crocos 20th May 2008 23:20

Pretty sure - was fairly recent. But then we're relying on my frazzled, freeze-dried, skull-dwelling pea to remember things...

Meanwhile, in Masterton:
Cellpwnership occurs

'Green passes' were a very common occurance while I was working as a ski field ticket checker in America :)
Probaly not so prevalent here - but American's are a bit more corrupt.

crocos 21st May 2008 00:00

Eh, not completely uncommon here either, just most folks aren't dumb enough to do it with the plod around.
