Bob Magill - For porting so many people from CTF to kick the life into NZTF.

PURGE - Many a time spent chatting to Anth, respect, a true gamer.

Raffe - For just being a reliable, person you could count on.

Cnut - Family and friends, mean sniper, anoying mate with a punkass little brother that turned out to be an ok "Player"

Im sure there are a few others there Jonan, Blip, Shoyu etc all good gamers, but i'll keep it short.

Regrets:

Loosing touch with some of the players that were really good people, both in game and IRL. Im still about, if you want to find me try registering @ daoc.utu.co.nz and post something ;)

The crap that killed TF ironically for me, along with RL(TM) commitments, were the very boards I used to care about. The whole [im12] thing these boards slumped to drove me away, technology cycled, the game became best connection vs best connection and much of the playing field became plague with "1337" :) not that thats a bad thing, just wasnt the TF of old so many remember, an era well spent and laid to rest.

Future:

WoW - In a guild called Utu.
UT 2004 - Hell yeah.
BF Vietnam - Play in the DC leagues, might go for a BF Vietnam one.

Yeh, but you, Wazo and Silva are what 'connected' all these guys.
I don't know about anyone else, but NZTFN was the ONLY place I went to for TF news (and this was when Planetfortress was a mere glint in the eye of Planetquake), because it was the only place out there for such news. And The Vault a repository of NZTF players. So many NZTF players in one place! Was kinda cool seeing all the stats for the people you'd just been playing against in G3, before you knew all the familar names.
Without a common 'meeting place' I guess you could call it, there wouldn't be a NZTF as it was known today. The Dreambook/Forum in '98 was the stomping ground before it came to NZG.

Yeah I'd agree, early on - Adun, Wazo and Silva set the community side up. Killer God and Adun set up the competitive side w/Silva doing a few 'fun' comps like the TFDM thing (7am games FFS!@ :)).

I used to be really anti-clan/community before and about 6 months after G3 came along. Purely FFA freelance! heh

It wasn't until I was lumbered with the job of looking after a clan, that I was forced into organising. Got a taste for it, and never liked non-comp much after that.

Aaha yeh me and Silva setup some TFDM thing, didnt really take off, still got that webpage on my computer somewhere among other old school stuff. Someone give me some webspace and I could chuck it online.

I took over the NZTF news page after wazo and then shoo helped out as well I *think*, long time ago now hard to remember.

My hero TFer of all time was Purge. I remember the nights of spending like from 12am to 6am on some dueling map just yakking and dueling. Well, maybe you'd call it dueling I usually referred to it as getting my head ripped off and poo poured down my throat. But it was cool.

Oh and there was some aussie dude that showed me how to do a double conc jump on 2f5. He was cool.
