lolcats!

Asriel 26th May 2008 10:25

Is there a quick and/or cheap way to get from Wellington airport to the central train station?

Sp0nge 26th May 2008 10:48

catch the orange bus at the airport... probably your cheapest option.

getting a shuttle or taxi is probably 10 minutes faster, depending how many stops the bus makes.

Shuttle costs 4 times as much, and if you're really lucky you'll get one that doesn't go via Island Bay etc.
Stick to the The Flyer (bus).

^^ Awesome, cheers.

Meh, I'm so much blinder than you. The thought of even trying to read without my specs gives me a headache, and I can't even get up in the middle of the night and go to the loo without them for fear of walking into a wall/not spotting a bug.

But no matter how much I hate having to wear glasses, contacts were too much of a pain in the ass (so much easier to zip glasses on and off), and I value my (bad) eyes too much to even risk letting a surgeon go near them.

I'm not sure where Kiwi Scott Dixon's achievement in winning the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 sits in the Parthenon of New Zealand motor racing achievements.

Sure it'll be in the same room as Denny Hulme's Formula One win back in 1967 but does it belong on the same shelf?
Wait... the Indy 500 is run in Athens?

Jonas Undrawing 26th May 2008 23:16

ok.... stop submitting " " or ">" emails until i figure out how to make the code read what is an email or not

Jonas Undrawing 26th May 2008 23:32

very funny.... you want me to stay up all night tonight making a thing that checks what is an email or not? huh?

Jonas Undrawing 26th May 2008 23:50

Guy on left pulls out of the sidestreet into my lane, and continues down at a happy 30-40 km/h while waiting for the other side's traffic to let him in

I have to slam on my brakes until eventually someone lets him in. I honk at him, and he has the fucking balls to give me the finger _b
Happened to leave out the traffic on my side of the road - couldn't change lanes etc

chiQ 27th May 2008 12:00

Does that grind your gears?

It's situations like that that made me wish I had a high definition camera mounted on the car (discreetly of course).

Why a hi-def camera?

cEvin 27th May 2008 14:26

so he can play it to his friends on his bravia 48" 1080p LCD!

MadMax 27th May 2008 14:28

allows you to pull reasonable resolution single frame shots from the footage, such as for that one single frame where you can see his finger pop up, or an amusing expression on their face, number plates if you're not close enough, etc

StN 27th May 2008 15:08

So she typed in the link, and got pictures of fruits...

I think SD should be sufficient for that.

I wonder what the difference between Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Digital) and the regular one without Digital is. I guess it's the sound but how am I, the average consumer, to know.

CCS 27th May 2008 16:04

Is it digital projection perhaps?

Spink 27th May 2008 16:20

Ahh, when you click the purchase tickets link it confirms what CCS said!

Please Note: films screening in Digital 3D at Courtenay Central will include an additional $1.00 fee per ticket for glasses hire.

Unless it means Digital 3D surround sound, oh god! I'm pretty sure it's projection though.

CCS 27th May 2008 16:22

Okay... so, like, this package was dispatched from the US on the 22nd of this month and track and trace says it arrived today. Why does it take so long? Did it go via Bangladesh? I suppose they must make some stopovers on the way from the US, but seriously - 5 days?! Ah well, normally I receive stuff from the States in around 10 days so it's not like it's taken longer than that yet, but you do have to wonder, eh. Eh.

EH?

Yeah... they're probably not renting you the 3D glasses so that you can hear the sound :D

bit like my dell delivery. to get to palmy, it had to go via wellington from auckland. palmy is obviously too much in hicksland for their trucks to stop halfway.
