The only roundabout that I recall as being memorable was one that I drove across, having not realised it was a roundabout.

How did this happen? At the time, I was wondering "what the fuck is this thing in front of me"? What it wasn't was a raised up circle - you know, the internationally accepted concept of a roundabout. Much later, I realised it must have been a "clever" idea for what a roundabout could be. Could be, but isn't...

Finally watched A Clockwork Orange Wednesday night. I'd have to say I found it watchable but only average. I didn't get a whole lot out of it and I wasn't particularly entertained. I've slowly been working my way through movies on the IMDB top 250. I watched Into the Wild recently and that one blew me away. Recommend it to anyone.

CCS 31st July 2008 19:31

Hey uhh... have you ever killed an animal just to watch it die?

crocos 31st July 2008 20:42

Yep: Made a mosquito explode by stretching my skin as it was biting me.

CCS 31st July 2008 20:58

That's not an animal. Wasn't talking to you anyway.

CCS 31st July 2008 21:01

Petrol prices have dropped again, w00t! That means I can chug-a-lug round in my gas guzzling, hippy crushing truck a bit more. All you cunts can still keep off my road, though.

Jamiepo 31st July 2008 21:22

new price? sub $2? If not I want it back

CCS 31st July 2008 21:27

$2.02 for 91. Get yourself a 4c off voucher from the supermarket and you'll be right :D

Only one Corolla? So you're on your first car, it's a Corolla, and you won't buy another one??

Draco T Bastard 1st August 2008 13:25

Found this article rather interesting. Seems to indicate that a 'knowledge economy' is most likely to be illusion.

Reformed_Quint 1st August 2008 13:28

I had a corolla once, was an 1978 it was the best car ever.

2 door, pillarless windows, wind down the windows in the back and front and theres a window as long as the interior. little 1.5 carby 4 speed, RWD, fuck it was awesome. Gutted i sold it :(

CCS 1st August 2008 14:04

This is why I don't take the bus.

Baal 1st August 2008 14:52

The only cars I've had I've missed have been Toyotas (1 corolla).

ChaosWulf 1st August 2008 14:54

So what cars have you hit then, Baal? :p

I saw the last X-Files movie the day it was released, obviously I'm getting old and don't move as quick as I used to. Today is the second day, 10 years later, but I'm gonna go see that shit.

I Want To Believe!

Something to do in this shitty wet weather.

CCS 1st August 2008 17:42

Anyone else noticed how much those shitty Sunday Star Times ads resemble the Woman's Day ads in tone? I know the rag is just a fluff-filled Sunday tabloid masquerading as intelligent journalism, but it's like they're not even trying to maintain the facade.

MadMax 2nd August 2008 13:09

back in my day, our jobs didn't go overseas for workers.

Haydos 2nd August 2008 13:26

The price of a government that doesn't make doing business easy. Far easier to outsource jobs overseas than it is to bother with all the regulations and more importantly, taxation here.

MadMax 2nd August 2008 13:32

^ that's just a cop-out, something telecom like to do. instead of employing people like they used to do and provide people with a job to be proud of, they take on an employment agency who then employs rules such as not being able to converse with workmates when you're on the job. citel employees end up having to throw each other balls of secret notes scribbled on note paper.
