how long has word required you to save a document as a .docm if you want to save macros?

wife sent off an assessment that had macros in it that was saved as a docx but something had gone wrong with the macro so needed to resubmit it. then we find the prompt to save as docm

i'm guessing it's some recent office update?

on opening the document to test it there's a new security warning asking if you want to enable the macro

That's quite interesting. How does it make you feel when you say that?

Since Office 2007.

... because the sent docx and her old assignment have a macro (albeit just a minimize/restore that somehow overwrote the original recorded macro)

... and ccs is a nerd, and he knows it.

crocos 25th November 2009 19:31

For the error, look at the settings in "Office"> "Word Options"> "Trust Center" > "Trust Center Settings..." Should default to the "Macro Settings" screen; you'll need to fuck with that to get the macros working.

Yeah, true. Although apparently hi-tech super-mcgoo brain scanning showed he had normal brain function. Perhaps we're still not getting the full story?

The ironic thing about that "I hate nerds" pic is that Ogre actually gets initiated into Lambda Lambda Lambda at the end of Revenge of the Nerds 2 as Frederick Palowakski, so it really is a case of a nerd calling other nerds nerds.

Thomas Meatball 26th November 2009 00:09

Thanks for the nerd movie info, movie nerd.

No, I wasn't controlling it - I was controlling you.

Aaron Cohen used to be Sales Manager at Acclaim in Sydney. He never told me he was a lawyer and 9/11 survivor. Wow.
