Yup, all the while the rest of the world goes the other direction. China will have to settle for the wisdom of the powerful. The rest of the world will be establishing a foundation of trust and legitimacy.

We'll see which offers the better outcomes.

Pretty much. Central bank digital currencies are an authoritarian government's dream. All they need to do is get rid of the competition.

Hope you got out what you wanted Nich. Just as long as you have enough to get you by until the next spike I suppose.

ANON INU just went to 0.00, which I guess makes it an infinity-percent drop.

Look at all these buying opportunities! Bargains to be had!

Lightspeed 20th July 2021 18:43

I reckon its got a ways to go yet. Why would the trend end now?

Ab 20th July 2021 19:02

I'm pretty much DCAing these days, I buy no matter what the price is doing. No shitcoins though.

Lightspeed 20th July 2021 19:17

That's what I tell everyone to do. The people who have taken my advice haven't complained so far.

"This bear market looks extremely bullish for Bitcoin. All the weak hands will be shaken out." ::facepalm::

Native 23rd July 2021 10:57

Same here. I buy 100 quid a month for the last 2 years or so. Occasionally I cash out a 600 quid so it can keep buying ETH for another 6 months. My plan is to do that till I retire and take it as a bonus to life.

Amazon rumours plus Binance printing $1 billion BUSD to wash-trade and pump the price.

StN 27th July 2021 07:13

...and Elon tweeted again didn't he?

DrTiTus 27th July 2021 20:17

I thought he just pumped the price for his earnings report so he doesn't look like an idiot and then gapped.

Pure speculation, but the timing is impeccable.

Ethereum upgrade means staking can be done on NUCs and Mac Minis. Biggest threat to GPU prices are shipping costs + chip shortages.

You're more in touch with this sort of thing than I am. What are the warning signs?

Not OP, but I found this

pxpx 9th August 2021 12:21

My big warning signal was when they converted my BTC into ETH without telling me.

Self custody is the only way. Can be done at no cost with something like Jaxx wallet

Aside from the excitement of gambling, what reason is there to have your value on an exchange?

Arbitrage opportunities, convenience, laziness.

Some tips from my accountant for buying selling in Aus CGT:
- Get private health insurance with minimum of hospital cover to avoid medicare levy from ATO
- set up a discretionary trust and buy any future crypto through that. Now friends and family can retire debt free too!

Was it a hack, a bug, or an inside job? If it’s the second, I’m not even sure that a crime has been committed…

Seems to have been an exploit of a poorly designed smart contract. I don't know if it was a crime either.
